Some people seek help from marriage counselor for making profile on marriage portals whereas some make their fake profiles to have fun.
Some profiles on many websites can be completely understood, but only by those who have written them. A PT report. “I love my patner. i marriage the patner ok. i search my patner. thik hai the patner is graduate ok.” “I am 25-year-old and clean shave. I am a good astrologer, it is my business. I am very frankly person. I hope my spouse is an astrologer.” “I’m wharre cool maane my perasonality. I don’t know and im business maane and my life wharre salfe. My famli is wharre cool cool, and I have sweet lovli sees.”
* “If any one want to marrie u can visite to my home. If u like me u viset my resident or send u letter.. Thanks yours Regards Somesha.” What comes to your mind when you see such profiles on marriage websites? Prateek Srivastava, a software professional, says, “I find all this very weird. Some of these profiles posted on marriage websites make our day. But, who knows whether or not they are made by real people?” Prateek has a point. As Nihar Jain, (name changed), says, “I had created a fake profile because I was bored of chatting on messengers and thought of doing something different. But, I have realised that fooling someone in this way isn’t right.” Nihar adds, “Now, I believe that the website must be designed in such a way that fake profiles can be caught when created.”
Priya Shankaran, who has posted her profile on one such website, says, “I have come across a number of funny profiles. I think it is totally wrong to have all such (funny) profiles posted online. The authorities must see to it that the language used is correct.” Many people also seek counsellors who can help them in creating impressive profiles. Chitra Shri, a marriage counsellor, says, “Those who come to me are told to fill in accurate information about themselves and their families. Counselling sessions are provided to those who are unable to find a suitable match. But, somehow, I suggest that seekers should not go through the online process of getting married. You never know who that person might turn out to be.” But Uday Zokarkar, the all India business head of a leading marriage website, says, “We reject about 15 to 20,000 profiles every month just because of bad language. And we guarantee total security about one’s profile.” Being a free registration site, anybody and everybody can put up a fake profile. Zokarkar counters that argument, “It is not possible as verification is done by our special customer care officers by calling up on the numbers that the candidates mention. And, if it seems that a certain profile is fake, we reject it immediately and also make sure that the same profile is not accepted again.” The leading sites might be taking adequate precautionary measures. Indeed, they definitely are. But, we do find some funny profiles here and there. Some of them may not be of real people. What matters is that they exist for real.
